ALL AMATEUR DAY AT MONTICELLO RACEWAY

Friday, September 6, 2013

This day is proclaimed as

VETERANS DAY AT MONTICELLO RACEWAY

Why?

Twenty of America’s top Amateur Harness Drivers are coming to Monticello Raceway from all around the country to race this day for one reason and one reason only. It is to help raise awareness and money for the Monticello Veterans Food Pantry.  Each driver will pay his/her own expenses to get here plus an entry fee for the right to compete.  All proceeds raised from this event will go directly to help those veterans that served our country and now do not have the means to buy enough food to feed themselves or their families.

If you are a veteran,  you know very well what it took to serve this country in combat or in so-called peacetime. We ask, NO we implore you to please come to Monticello Raceway on Friday, September 6, 2013 with an un-opened, non-perishable food product, a monetary donation or some good clean used clothing that you can bring to help us help them.  I myself served four years in the Marine Corps of which thirteen months were spent in Viet Nam during the height of the war.  I know what these veterans went through and my heart goes out to them.  PLEASE come out and let us together help the less fortunate who risked their lives to keep us safe.

Please stay for the races. It’s free and its fun. Post time is at 12:50 P.M.   Come out and show your support for the men and women that served for us.
