Monticello Raceway is offering a race for New York Bred 3 Year Old Trotting Fillies.  The Monday June 27 race will be drawn on Wednesday June 22, the purse for the event is $5,000 “This is a good opportunity for trainers to give their fillies a tour over the Monticello oval, in the event they have not raced here before in preparation for their September 6 stop for the last leg of the New York Sire Stakes to be held here on September 6” said Race Secretary Eric Warner.

The North American Amateur Drivers Association’s 10-week trotting series kicked-off Thursday (June18) at the Mighty M with two divisions on the 11 race card. Hannah Miller copped the first with Lou Lous Princess while Bob Hechkoff won the second with No Recess. Also on the program was a Catskill Amateur Club pace which went to Dirty Devil, driven by Steve Oldford.

Monticello Raceway was honored to be the site of driver Chris Lems 1000th career win, ironically Monticello was the site of Chris’s his first stake win. 
Chris drove Manny to victory in the 3rd division of NYSS in 1:54:2. Manny (America Ideal – Foolish Kiss) is trained by Jessica Okusko, for owners M and L of Delaware & Victoria Dickson. Chris also drives for powerful stables of Jessica Okusko and George Ducharme.  


On Wednesday June 8 Monticello Raceway’s Pick 5 carry over is now $4,532.00. The first leg of the Pick 5 begins in Race 3.  Director of Simulcasting, Maureen Flynn said “this is the biggest carry over that we have had, we are glad to offer our patrons this opportunity”

On Tuesday afternoon Royal Heart, paced the 2nd fastest mile in the history of Monticello Raceway. The 5 year old gelding by Royal Art cut fractions of 27:1, 56:2. 1:24:3 enroute to new track record of 1:51.4 for aged pacing geldings, erasing the previous mark of 1:52 held by Buckeye One.  Bruce Aldrich Jr. drove the Jose Godinez trainee for owners Blindswitch Racing Stable and Dolne Farm Services LLC.


Scot Zeron wins 3 at Monticello Raceway

To use a phrase from the great race caller Carl Becker “They are coming from everywhere”, that was the case for the draw when a total of 61 colts were entered for the glamour division of the NYSS, 3 Year Old Pacing Colts, to be raced on Monday June 6. The 13 race cards show cases 9 races of NY Bred sophomores.  The afternoon’s card has 3 division of Sire Stakes, each split racing for $39,900, 4 divisions of the Excelsior A class ($15,000) and 2 races of the Excelsior B class ($6,600)
